Planetwatch Conservancy (PLACE) is an NGO established in 2020, is based in Bongaigaon, Assam, to work towards environment-related issues. The organisation’s focus includes environmental protection, wildlife conservation, agriculture and rural development. PLACE endeavours to fulfil the understanding and requirements for utilising need-based technologies to protect better and sustainably use our natural resources. PLACE aims to collaborate with institutions, agencies, and like-minded individuals from all the relevant disciplines for any developmental projects and provides guidance and encouragement to achieve the desired goal.
PLACE believes that, we can create a world where humanity thrives in harmony with nature, where every action contributes to the greater good, and where future generations inherit a planet rich in biodiversity, opportunity, and hope. Planetwatch Conservancy employs drones for aerial surveys, planning, and mapping efforts. These services enable comprehensive data of long term management and monitoring. By leveraging drone and GIS technologies Planetwatch ensures suitable solutions.
In the social work sector, we offer comprehensive capacity building and livelihood training services. Through tailored programs, we empower individuals and communities with essential skills and knowledge, fostering sustainable livelihoods and promoting socio-economic development. Our initiatives aim to create lasting positive impacts and opportunities for growth.
Planetwatch Conservancy provides services associated with biodiversity conservation, monitoring, management and planning. The organisation aims to support the stakeholders in through active research and community-centric approaches.
A Herpetologist, based in Arunachal Pradesh, and a retired Employee of the Forest Department of Arunachal Pradesh.
A Conservation Biologist with a decade of experience in the field of wildlife conservation. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D from Mizoram University, dept. of Forestry. He has worked extensively in western Assam and Eastern Arunachal Pradesh. He is also a member of IUCN SSC Heron Specialist Group’s, Member of Society for Conservation Biology and also a National Geographic Explorer since 2017.
An expert in Remote Sensing and GIS. He has a background in Geography and GIS. He is experienced in using GIS in Agriculture, Forestry, and Mining etc. He has been associated with numerous GIS based projects.
A distinguished scholar and social work professional with a rich academic background and extensive research experience. She earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Social Work at Mizoram University in 2023, focusing on the dynamics of agricultural entrepreneurship and rural development. She also holds an M. Phil and an MSW with a specialization in Community Development. She had more than six years of experience in community organization and Development.
A Wildlife Researcher and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the Dept. of Forestry, Mizoram University. He has a background in forestry and has working experience in Orchids and Asian Elephants.
Life science graduate & pursuing Masters degree in Environmental Science. Experienced in chemical and soil testing laboratories and forestry field works. Areas of interest: Chemistry, Zoology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science
